Rebinding & Restoration

Books are repaired often, and not just due to general wear and tear. There are some instances where manuscripts can be rebound to fit the fashion of the time. Unfortunately, this usually means stripping away the original binding. Neglect and restoration are responsible for the remaining ~1-5% or less of surviving medieval books have their original bindings.
